Everton are looking to strengthen in midfield, but Thomas Frank’s move to Tottenham Hotspur could now spoil one potential transfer plan for David Moyes.
Everton are targeting four positions as a priority at the moment – and it is thought a new central midfielder is on the agenda.
David Moyes has already lost Abdoulaye Doucoure on a free transfer.
And while Idrissa Gana Gueye is expected to sign a contract extension, the Senegal international is obviously now in his late thirties and may not play any more seasons with Everton after 2025/26.
It was claimed a couple of months ago that Everton were in the mix to sign Christian Norgaard from Brentford. At the time, his contract was going to run out this summer. But the Denmark international penned a new deal in March.
But one report has now suggested any Everton move for the player might be complicated.
Everton target Christian Norgaard may want Thomas Frank link-up at Tottenham
It has been reported by Caught Offside that Norgaard has now emerged as a target for Tottenham, who are looking to bolster their squad after a shocking Premier League campaign in 2024/25.
Spurs won the Europa League, and therefore sealed Champions League football for 2025/26, but they finished in 17th place in the Premier League table.

It was an utterly disastrous campaign, which ultimately cost Ange Postecolgou his job.
As a result, they have swooped for Frank, with confirmation of that move expected very soon.
And this could now see Spurs sign Norgaard.
Caught Offside claim Everton are still monitoring Norgaard, but Bournemouth and Fulham are also in the hunt.
But it’s Spurs who are in the driving seat, and they are making a ‘determined effort’ to sign the star.
How much Brentford want for Christian Norgaard
Spurs’ interest in Norgaard makes a move for the midfielder very tricky.
He has been one of Frank’s most trusted players at the Gtech Community Stadium, and the manager will surely be doing all he can to sign him this summer.
It would be a major surprise if Everton signed Norgaard from here. Fans previously backed Everton moving for Norgaard, but it does not seem too likely now.
That said, it’s stated that Brentford are holding out for around £17-20 million for their captain.
Given the player is 31 years of age, that would not really represent great value for Everton, so Moyes may now be keen to look elsewhere.
