Thomas Frank has made the worst decision of his Tottenham reign, it could cost him vs Bodo/Glimt

Thomas Frank has made an excellent start to his Tottenham reign in recent weeks.

The Dane has rightly received plenty of plaudits for the impact that he has already had in N17, despite the fact that he only arrived in the summer.

Frank has already made Tottenham a much tougher proposition for opposition teams, although Saturday’s draw with Wolves was a frustrating setback in their bright start to the campaign.

The new boss has his team flying high in the early-season Premier League table, but he has let himself down with this decision, and it could come back to bite him very quickly.

Thomas Frank is massively wrong to drop Mohammed Kudus

Mohammed Kudus has made a brilliant start to his Tottenham career and has arguably been their player of the season so far.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Lilywhites shelled out £55million to bring the Ghana international across London from West Ham in the summer, but he has already made that fee look like a bargain with his performances.

Kudus has been electric in his opening few outings for his new club and has been the primary threat for Spurs in almost every game.

With that in mind, it is a simply baffling decision from Frank to leave him on the bench for Tuesday’s Champions League clash away at Bodo/Glimt.

Kudus has completed over 68% of his passes in the opposition half in the Premier League so far in 2025-26, and Spurs will miss his bravery on the ball in the final third.

The former Brentford boss has been largely faultless in his decision-making since coming in, but he has surely got it massively wrong on this occasion.

He has effectively tied both hands behind his back by leaving his main creative outlet on the bench to face the Norwegian outfit, and it’s fair to suggest that this could be the worst decision of his Spurs tenure so far.

Bodo/Glimt is a banana skin for Tottenham

Kudus’ impact at Tottenham has been immense during his short time with the club so far, and Frank has certainly made Tuesday’s task that bit harder by leaving him on the bench for the game.

Bodo/Glimt produced a late rally to secure a draw at Slavia Prague in the opening game of their European campaign, and you have to go back a staggering 23 games since the last time they failed to find the back of the net.

Throw in the fact that conditions in the Arctic Circle could well be difficult for the North Londoners, and Tuesday night’s assignment certainly isn’t as easy as it looks for them on paper.

With that in mind, the decision to rest Kudus is a bizarre one, and Frank could easily live to regret it if his side cannot secure a favourable result.
