As the January transfer window approaches, speculation over Antoine Semenyo’s future is a major talking point.
Spurs wanted to sign Semenyo from Bournemouth in the summer transfer window, but refused to pay the Cherries £100million asking price.
It was then revealed recently that Semenyo has a £65million release clause in his contract, and that put several clubs on red alert.
Unfortunately, Semenyo snubbed Tottenham’s interest, with the 25-year-old preferring a move elsewhere, although that may have changed.
Thomas Frank can use Brennan Johnson in Antoine Semenyo negotiations
Manchester City emerged as favourites to sign the powerful Ghanaian ahead of January, while the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United have placed him on their radar.

However, according to Alan Nixon via his Patreon, Bournemouth have joined Crystal Palace in the race to sign Tottenham’s Brennan Johnson.
Palace showed an interest in Johnson as potential competition for Ismaila Sarr – who is currently on AFCON duty with Senegal – and this update on the Welshman’s future could be good news for the Lilywhites.
Nixon states that Bournemouth are eyeing Johnson as a possible replacement for Semenyo, with Spurs willing to sell for around £35m.
Indeed, using the former Nottingham Forest man as a bargaining chip could help in their quest to land Semenyo.
What Semenyo would bring to Tottenham
In a campaign where Erling Haaland has dominated the goalscoring charts once more, Semenyo has transformed into a talisman for Bournemouth with eight goals in 16 Premier League appearances.
A powerful ball-carrying phenom, with a ruthless eye for goal, the former Bristol City man can operate in any position across the frontline, and if he joined Tottenham, he could be utilised as a left-winger.
Semenyo is one of the league’s best at bursting forward in transition and would offer a goal threat to a side that has struggled to score goals.
If Spurs can somehow sign the forward, perhaps using Johnson in negotiations, then he could transform Frank’s attack and carry them towards Europe.
