Thomas Frank needs all the help he can get right now if he is to avoid being sacked by Tottenham.

Tottenham fans have turned on Frank after a terrible start to the former Brentford manager’s tenure in North London.

Spurs’ 1-1 draw with Sunderland at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the weekend certainly did not help matters, with the Lilywhites again looking all too ponderous in possession.

And fresh on the back of Tottenham selling Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace, Frank has now been hit with an injury blow in a position he is already light.

Mohammed Kudus injury worse than first feared

Kudus limped off in the first half of the draw with Sunderland, but it was not known how serious the issue was.

MORE SPURS STORIES

In an update provided by Mike McGrath via The Telegraph on Tuesday, it has now been reported that the injury is worse than first feared.

While there is no timeframe for Kudus‘ return, the article adds that Spurs have now ramped up their transfer plans.

That suggests the Ghana international is not due back anytime soon in what is yet another setback for Frank.

It is not inconceivable that Frank could be the next high-profile manager sacked in the Premier League should Spurs lose one or two more upcoming matches.

Kudus has played in all but one of Tottenham‘s Premier League games since arriving from West Ham, and has directly contributed to seven goals – only Richarlison (10) can better that.

What has Thomas Frank said about Kudus injury blow?

Frank must be ruing his luck right now, knowing that what was supposed to be a dream job is slipping through his grasp with each passing game.

Speaking after the Sunderland draw, Frank said of Kudus’ injury: “We don’t know how it looks like, so I think that’s one thing.

“And sometimes when you take that decision, sometimes you can’t delay them if you want to, for example.”

It is now clear the problem is more serious than initially expected, and Spurs are in desperate need of a new attacker before the window closes.

Frank will simply hope he is still the man who is in charge come 3 February when the window closes for business.
