Thomas Frank is currently under big pressure at Tottenham and he has not been helped by the constant injury issues in his squad.

Cristian Romero was the hero as Tottenham salvaged a 2-2 draw away at Newcastle United on Tuesday night.

However, Spurs are now five games without a win across all competitions and have dropped down to 11th in the Premier League.

Frank’s future at Tottenham remains in doubt and he will have to turn the North London side’s form around if he is to save his job.

Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski are not close to a return

Tottenham host Brentford on Saturday as they look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Of course, it will be the first time Frank has faced his former club since making the summer switch to North London, and the Dane will be desperate to prove that he made the right decision.

However, Spurs have suffered another injury setback ahead of the game, with Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke still nowhere near returning to first-team action.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Brentford clash, Frank revealed that he still has no update on the pair’s fitness.

When asked about Kulusevski and Solanke, Frank said: “When they are ready to be close to joining the squad, then I will provide an update.”

Thomas Frank will be furious with Tottenham medical team

Kulusevski has been out of action for Tottenham since last May, as he picked up a knee injury in the penultimate game of the 2024-25 Premier League season.

Now, almost seven months later, the Swedish international seems no closer to a return, and there has been very little communication about his fitness.

Solanke has also faced injury issues, but the Lilywhites opted not to address a persistent ankle injury over the summer, with the striker pressing on without surgery.

Just two months into the new season, the England international went under the knife to fix the problem for good, leaving Spurs with a lack of depth up front.

With both Solanke and Kulusevski still out of action, Frank must be furious with the Tottenham medical team and will surely be questioning their decision-making and methods.
