Tottenham Hotspur are in dire straits right now, and Tim Sherwood is calling on three players out on loan to save their skin.

Spurs are yet to win in 2026 in the Premier League and there are just four points between the club and West Ham, who currently sit in the final relegation place.

🤔 Next summer, should Tottenham Hotspur KEEP or LOAN Mikey Moore?

Tottenham have been abysmal once again domestically this season and also crashed out of the FA Cup in the third round, with the Champions League and a survival bid the only things left for Spurs this season.

Sherwood knows all about managing Tottenham and now he’s suggested the three loan players who could save the team’s season if they were to be called back from their loan spells.

Tim Sherwood wants Mikey Moore back at Tottenham

Sherwood has been speaking to the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast and he believes Moore, on loan at Rangers, along with two other loanees, can save Tottenham.

He believes Moore, along with Ashley Phillips, currently at Blackburn and Luka Vuskovic, who is on loan with Hamburg, can save Tottenham in their fight to avoid relegation.

He said: “No one fancies him (Mikey Moore) at the moment. They probably say they would argue and say we will just send him out and gain experience. But I would argue well he’s better than probably what you’ve got.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“So bring him back and play games because not only would he be better in my opinion than some of the players you’ve signed and are in your squad, you also had a shocking injury crisis.

“So, not only Mikey Moore, Vuskovic should have been brought back from Hamburg in my opinion, who’s played pretty much every game. He’s scored about five goals as well. He’s a big centre back. Phillips, the boy they signed from Blackburn, who’s on loan, and he plays every week at Stoke. He should have been brought back. Not brought back for no reason, but brought back to play”

Tottenham have to do better with younger stars

Tottenham have to stop letting quite so many young players out on loan, and the likes of Moore, Vuskovic and Phillips could have all been helping out this season.

In the case of Moore, Vuskovic and Phillips, all three are playing regularly, and perhaps the trio should have been kept in North London to aid Tottenham in the event of any injury issues.

All three would have got some minutes this season and given the current crisis, things could hardly have been any worse than they already have been.

Sherwood makes a lot of sense regarding these three players, although the chances of recalling them are very slim, and it looks as though Tudor will have to work with what he’s currently got instead.
