Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost in their rumoured pursuit of Timothy Weah as the Juventus wide man has now rejected the chance to join Spurs’ Premier League rivals.
Weah is an extremely versatile player, capable of playing as a conventional right-back, a wing-back or even as a winger. Premier League managers always need players who can cover a range of positions when fixtures start coming thick and fast.
He primarily played in attack for Juventus last season and proved his effectiveness in the final third, scoring six times and providing five assists.
It first emerged last week that Tottenham had set their sights on Weah, whose future at the Allianz Arena is in doubt this summer.
It was reported a few days ago Spurs face competition from some of their Premier League rivals for Weah, but it turns out that the Lilywhites now have one less competitor to worry about.
This is because Fabrizio Romano has taken to social media to reveal that the USA international had turned down the chance to move to Nottingham Forest.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men submitted a proposal to Juve and started negotiations with the Serie A giants, but the 25-year-old has now decided that he does not want to move to the City Ground.

Three more clubs ready to challenge Tottenham for Timothy Weah
Just because Forest are now out of the race for the wide-man, does not mean that Spurs have a free run at Weah this summer.
Some sources over the last week have named Everton, RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid could challenge Tottenham for Weah this summer.
The same update explained that Juve will not let the American leave on the cheap, but it is unclear as of now, based on these updates, what the Italian club’s asking price is.
