TOTTENHAM were victims of the commentator’s curse during their defeat at Paris Saint-Germain – but TNT Sports removed Glenn Hoddle’s comment from their highlights.

Spurs were holding onto a slender lead at the Parc des Princes thanks to Richarlison’s close range header.

But Thomas Frank’s side went on to suffer a 5-3 defeat to the Champions League holders on Wednesday.

And Tottenham had club legend Hoddle to blame when former Wolves man Vitinha drew PSG level.

On co-commentary for the European showdown, he said: “They’ve got to get in behind Tottenham and get round the back of Spurs.

“They’re playing in front of them and they’re taking shots, but Spurs will be quite happy with that.”

But Hoddle was left red-faced as soon as he finished his sentence because Vitinha then sent an unstoppable strike into the top corner of the net from long range.

Lead commentator Adam Summerton responded by adding: “Another strike and this time it’s in. What a hit that is from Vitinha.

“Off the bar and in – and in the final minute of the first 45, PSG equalise.”

But Hoddle’s comment in the immediate build-up to Vitinha’s thunderbolt was omitted when TNT Sports put their highlights package on YouTube after the final whistle.

It was immediately spotted by eagle-eyed viewers, who took to social media.

One said: “Hilariously, TNT have purposely scrubbed Hoddle saying this from their YouTube upload but kept the main commentator in.”

Another added: “Noticed this yesterday.”

A third commented: “They do this whenever the commentator is mid yap when the highlight begins, makes it more seamless.”

Vitinha went on to complete his hat-trick with another two goals to spearhead PSG to victory.
