'There's no doubt' - Premier League stadium 'set to host the Super Bowl' as NFL decision made - The Sun
Description

TOTTENHAM’S stunning stadium is being lined up to host a future Super Bowl — in what would be a historic first outside of North America.

The £1billion north London ground welcomed its 11th NFL regular season game on Sunday as the Minnesota Vikings beat the Cleveland Browns.

And it’s set to hit a dozen games next weekend when the Denver Broncos take on the New York Jets in Week Six.

Since opening in 2019, Spurs’ stadium has remained the only purpose-built NFL venue outside the US — and it's officially the NFL's home in the UK.

Now, leading voices in the sport say it’s only a matter of time before the biggest game in American football lands on British soil.

Sky Sports NFL’s Ndamukong Suh, a Super Bowl champion himself, said: “There’s no doubt in my mind — it’s on the table. I’d bet it happens in the next five years.”

NFL owners are believed to be seriously considering taking the Super Bowl global with Dallas Cowboys supremo Jerry Jones one of the biggest supporters of the idea.

It comes as the NFL ramps up its international expansion, with London hosting three games this season — and seven to be played overseas in total.

New venues include Dublin, Madrid, Berlin, and a return to Brazil, while the league plans to land in Australia with a game in Melbourne next year.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell wants EVERY team to play at least one international game per season, targeting up to 16 overseas games annually.

Fellow Sky Sports pundit Jason Bell added: “The Super Bowl is about experience — imagine it in London.

"It’s never been done before. That’s exactly why it’ll happen.”

Ex-Spurs star David Bentley swaps high life in Marbella for boxing training to fight former Chelsea player Jody Morris - The Sun
Description

DAVID BENTLEY has ditched the high life in Marbella for gritty boxing training ahead of his fight against Jody Morris.

The former Tottenham star takes on ex-Chelsea player and coach Morris next Saturday at the Grosvenor Hotel in Mayfair.

Graham Stack - who spent six seasons as an Arsenal goalkeeper - is organising the charity boxing event.

And he feared Bentley would get lost in the Marbella sauce after approaching the maverick midfielder to fight on the card.

Stack, 44, told SunSport: "I must say I was blown away by it. I asked Bents, and he said, 'Yeah, I'm in.' He said, 'No problem.'

"I said, 'No Bents, you realise that once you've committed, you've committed and there's sort of no turning back on this.'

"He was like 'Stacky, put me down.' And then I couldn't get hold of him for about a month!

"I found out he was on a yacht and on a boat and he was in Marbella and he was partying and I thought, 'He's gonna let me down.

"But Bents is true to his word, he's not letting me down, he's committed to it completely and he's training really hard."

Bentley - who retired from football at just 29 - co-owns a bar in Marbella.

But now he is being trained by former professional boxer Kevin Mitchell for his derby bout against Morris.

And the dad-of-four revealed his youngest daughter is fearing the worst - while wife Kimberly is buzzing to see the 41-year-old back in shape.

Bentley said: "My little one was crying a bit, 'You're not boxing!' But it's life, isn't it? Life's a big fight and you got to keep going.

"So getting in the ring, I'm looking forward to it. Yeah, the kids are all right. They've come round to it.

"My missus be happy, getting a bit fitter, get rid of the derby! The old "dad bod". But yeah, getting a bit fitter now."

Bentley - who came up at Arsenal with Stack - signed for Spurs in 2008 and spent six seasons with the North London side.

Morris meanwhile was at Chelsea's academy before making his debut in 1996 - spending seven years at the club.

He played alongside John Terry and Frank Lampard - who he also returned to the Blues with as a coach.

So the London bragging rights will be on the line as Bentley said: "He'll have a full support when they bring the old Chelsea firm with him, won't they?

"But don't worry, I've got all the old Tottenham North London with me!"

Elsewhere on the card is Curtis Davies vs Paddy Kenny, Leroy Lita vs David Noble, Lee Trundle vs Anthony Gardner and Greg Halford vs Marvin Elliott.

Stack is organising the event on behalf of four charities - looking to raise £500,000.

All funds will be donated to Playskill, Sport In Mind, Willow Foundation, and Helping Hands.

'You can't lose to Spurs' - Jody Morris warned by Chelsea fans ahead of charity boxing match with David Bentley - The Sun
Description

JODY MORRIS already has the pressure of the Chelsea faithful on him heading into his charity boxing bout against David Bentley.

The former Blues midfielder takes on ex-Tottenham Bentley star next Saturday at the Grosvenor Hotel in Mayfair.

He is one of ten retired Premier League players taking to the ring - but the battle for London bragging rights makes it the juiciest fight of all.

Morris, 46, told SunSport: "My mates have been messaging me going, 'You can't lose to Spurs!

"But yeah, well I'll be hoping for a Chelsea win that night, put it that way."

Morris came through Chelsea's academy before making his debut in 1996 - spending seven years at the club.

He came up alongside John Terry and Frank Lampard - who will be backing him against Bentley.

Morris said: "I spoke to JT about it quite a bit, not so much Lamps, he's pretty busy doing a great job at Coventry at the minute.

"Listen, I've had many well wishers but when it was first announced, it kind of looked like it was a bit of a way away and all of a sudden it's only two weeks around the corner now.

"So I'm sure I'll get plenty of messages in the build-up but like I say, I'm pretty focused on just trying to get fitter and better at boxing before the night comes around so you don't embarrass yourself.

"Nobody wants to lose do they? And usually if you're losing in boxing fights, it means that you're taking a bit of punishment, so I'm definitely hoping not to do that!"

Elsewhere on the card is Curtis Davies vs Paddy Kenny, Leroy Lita vs David Noble, Lee Trundle vs Anthony Gardner and Greg Halford vs Marvin Elliott.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Graham Stack is organising the event on behalf of four charities - looking to raise £500,000.

All funds will be donated to Playskill, Sport In Mind, Willow Foundation and Helping Hands.

Morris hopes to settle his London derby with Bentley in the ring - before sharing a pint afterwards.

He said: "I was lucky enough to play with Stacky and Marvin Elliott that are there.

"I know Leroy Lita a little bit, even Leon McKenzie that's one of the coaches, Darren Barker being a coach.

"There is a real good sort of family and friends feel about it but I think once you enter the ring that'll maybe go out of the way for a little bit.

"But like I said, I'm sure we'll all have a good drink after and hopefully celebrate nobody being too hurt."

Harry Kane reveals doubts over leaving Bayern for Tottenham transfer return and where he plans to finish career

Harry Kane reveals doubts over leaving Bayern for Tottenham transfer return and where he plans to finish career - The Sun
Description

HARRY KANE has revealed his doubts over returning to the Premier League.

The England captain is open to signing a new deal with Bayern Munich — and hinted he could end his career in the US.

Kane, 32, admits to no longer being certain of a Prem homecoming, even though Tottenham do have a first option on re-signing him after his £104million exit from them two years ago.

Kane, who has 18 goals in ten games for Bayern this campaign, said: “In terms of staying longer, I could definitely see that.

“I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet but if they do arise, I’d be willing to talk.

“It depends on how the next year or so goes and what we achieve together. We are in a fantastic moment and I am not thinking about anything else.

“In terms of the Premier League, I don’t know. If you had asked me when I first left for Bayern, I’d have said for sure, I’d come back.

“Now I’ve been there a couple of years, that has gone down a bit, not so much — but I wouldn’t say I would never go back.

“America is too early. MLS would be something later in my career when I am thinking about the last couple of years or so.

“What I’ve learnt in my career is that different opportunities happen and things fall in place.

“Going back to my first point about Bayern, right now, I am fully all in with them.”

Kane joined the German giants for an initial £86m and the release clause in his deal would allow him to leave for £56.7m next summer.

Spurs manager Thomas Frank last month said the club’s ex-talisman is “welcome” to return.

And Kane knows he is only 47 goals shy of Alan Shearer’s Prem-record haul of 260 goals.

Yet ahead of Thursday’s home friendly with Wales, the Three Lions hero said he loves playing for Bayern boss — and Manchester City legend — Vincent Kompany.

Kane - who also revealed he has tweaked his diet as he chases World Cup and Ballon d'Or glory - added: “I have still got this season and another season.

“It is not like I am into my last year. It is not like there is any panic in that sense.

“I love the manager at Bayern. He is fantastic and, as always, as long as we are improving and I am improving, then I am happy to see what we can achieve.

“I just don’t think there is any need to rush anything on both parts. Obviously, we are only two months into the season.

“If there is to be an extension, it has to work for everyone and it has to have a clear vision on where we see the club.”

Kane looks set to start against both Wales and Latvia next Tuesday in a World Cup qualifier.

Brooklyn Earick scraps £4.5billion bid for Tottenham after being told by Lewis family they WON'T sell the club - The Sun
Description

BROOKLYN Earick has withdrawn his £4.5billion Spurs takeover bid - after the Lewis family made it clear they would not sell under ANY conditions.

Sun Sport exclusively revealed how former DJ Earick, 41, had compiled a 12-strong US consortium to finance his world record bid.

Earick was offering £3.3bn for the club plus a further £1.2bn in funds for transfers, wages and agents fees.

Despite current owners ENIC and the Lewis family having “unequivocally rejected” the initial offer - confirmed by the club via a Stock Exchange statement - detailed discussions between the two sides took place last week.

But after it was made clear that a sale was simply not on the cards under any circumstances - with the Lewises determined to show a long-term commitment to moving the club on - it was agreed that Earick would formally withdraw his offer.

That was confirmed by a Stock Exchange statement, which referred to the initial bid offer made last month.

It said: “Further to the announcement made by the Board of Tottenham Hotspur Limited on 26 September 2025, Mr Brooklyn Earick confirms that he does not intend to make a firm offer for the Company.

“Accordingly, Mr Brooklyn Earick and any person(s) currently acting in concert with him will, except with the consent of the Takeover Panel, be bound by the restrictions set out in Rule 2.8 of the Code."

Sun Sport understands that Earick was involved in significant conversations with Douglas Armstrong, the Lewis family’s legal counsel.

The agreement does not rule out a future bid with the Stock Exchange statement adding: “Mr Brooklyn Earick and the Consortium also reserve the right to acquire shares of the Company, subject to, and in accordance with, the Code and other applicable regulations.”

Tottenham said in a statement: "The Board of Tottenham Hotspur Limited (the "Club") notes the recent announcements from the Firehawk and Mr Earick's consortiums that they do not intend to make an offer for the Club.

"The Board thanks them for the constructive approach taken in the discussions with the Club's and the Lewis family's representatives and respecting the clear position of the Lewis family that the Club is not for sale.

"Following the announcements made by the consortiums, the Club is no longer in an offer period under the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers."

Sun Sport exclusively revealed Earick's interest in buying Spurs - leading to his first public comment on the subject.

He shared a photo of the backpage story alongside the caption: "Pretty low key morning so far."

Interest in buying Tottenham has spiked following Daniel Levy's departure from the club at the beginning of September.

Sun Sport reported how Earick was given a guided tour of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the club’s Hotspur Way training facility on August 6.

That was a visit arranged by former chairman Levy.

Talks with ENIC continued after Levy’s shock exit with Earick who had until October 24, under Takeover Panel rules, to make a bid for the whole club.

It was believed that one of Earick’s proposed backers was Dan Gilbert, the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA franchise who has an estimated fortune of £20bn.

However, Gilbert is understood to have developed cold feet over the potential deal while the unwillingness of the Lewis family to give any hint of a willingness to consider a sale left Earick with only one way out for now.

The end of his pursuit, though, will put pressure on the Lewis family and ENIC to deliver on their promise to invest in the club’s long-term aims starting in the January transfer window.

Ex-Arsenal keeper brings Prem rivals together for charity boxing fights… with Chelsea vs Spurs bragging rights on line - The Sun
Description

FORMER Arsenal keeper Graham Stack is bringing London bragging rights to the boxing ring - in the name of charity.

Stack - Arsene Wenger's back-up stopper in the 2003-04 Invincible season - has ten retired players signed up for the event next Saturday.

The main attraction is former Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris taking on ex-Tottenham man David Bentley at the Grosvenor Hotel in Mayfair.

And despite the money raised going towards four different charities, there will be no love lost in the ring.

Stack, 44, told SunSport: "Of course not, that's not what we do. We're ex-footballers, ex-athletes, whatever it might be.

"I think if you ask them to have a game of chess or pool, they're gonna do everything they can to possibly win and that's gonna be no different.

"First things first, we don't want anyone getting injured, which is why we've got head guards and gloves.

"But in saying that, people will be getting in the ring and they'll be looking to knock their opponent out, which is exactly what I'm after."

Morris, 46, spent seven seasons at Chelsea after coming through their academy, making his debut in 1996.

He later returned as Frank Lampard's assistant manager in 2019 for nearly two years.

Bentley meanwhile - who played with Stack at Arsenal - joined Spurs in 2008 and had five years with the North Londoners.

The ex-England international, 41, has been training with Kevin Mitchell while Morris is coached by former middleweight world champion Darren Barker.

And Stack reckons footballers stepping into the ring in retirement could become a trend.

He said: "Pretty much in any sport, whether that's boxing or football, whatever that might be, there's always that void, there's always that gap.

"Over time you're trying to replace it with stuff, so I think this is definitely given the boys back a little bit of a spark, give them an edge back, give them something to focus on, give them some drive and some stability and some structure.

"And ultimately fight night is gonna be like walking out in front of 40,000, the pressure, the nerves, the adulation if you win, the disappointment when you lose.

"I think it's gonna be as close to what they would have had as a player since they've stopped playing."

Elsewhere on the card is Curtis Davies vs Paddy Kenny, Leroy Lita vs David Noble, Lee Trundle vs Anthony Gardner and Greg Halford vs Marvin Elliott.

Stack was due to also fight and was in training - but had to focus all his efforts on organising.

People will be getting in the ring and they'll be looking to knock their opponent out, which is exactly what I'm after

Graham Stack

He said: "It was quite a lot to do and I was finding it was probably too much.

"What I didn't want to do is put myself down to fight on the night, win the fight, but the event not be a success and not raise the money, because I wouldn't have been able to sleep at night.

"The most important thing for me is to raise half a million pounds.

"It's not about me, it's not even about the boxers, it's not about Peter Crouch doing the Q&A, it's about what we raise ultimately.

"So we really do need everyone's help to donate and hopefully as many people to come and be present on the night."

Stack is raising money for four different charities.

'Four wonderful charities'

Bob Wilson - who brought Stack to Arsenal - runs the Willow Foundation in honour of his daughter Anna who sadly died of cancer.

Stack is also working with Helping Hands - a children's cancer charity in Barnet.

They are in need of a breakout room for children's chemotherapy and need three more electric chairs - having only got one so far.

Playskill is also a children's charity in Watford looking after patients from five-months-old to five-years-old.

They specialise in children with communication and physical difficulties.

Sport in Mind is a mental health charity - in partnership with NHS trusts - that Stack works with.

It gives those struggling mentally an outlet through sport - based in Reading where Stack spent the 2005-06 season on loan.

He added: "Four wonderful charities, we are trying to raise half a million, from October to October. So that is our goal."

Peter Crouch suffers embarrassing blunder at Tottenham's stadium as he becomes an NFL player for the day - The Sun
Description

PETER CROUCH suffered an embarrassing blunder as he tried to become an NFL player for the day.

The retired striker was at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the Minnesota Vikings game with the Cleveland Browns.

Crouch, 44, was well received at the ground, having starred for Spurs between 2009 and 2011.

As part of the entertainment during the first quarter break, he tried his hand at being an NFL kicker.

He was presented with the challenge of scoring a field goal from 25 yards while wearing a Paddy Power shirt and torso pads.

However, it was not an ideal moment for Crouch as he skewed his effort wide of the posts.

To make the moment worse, he had started running off as if to celebrate a goal.

Fans found the miss hilarious as they reacted on social media.

One posted: "At least he didn't slip over like at the Liverpool vs Wolves game."

A second commented: "Crouchy should be able to do that in his sleep."

A third wrote: "How has he not done that?"

A fourth said: "He wouldn't have missed a header."

Another added: "They could have used him as one of the posts."

Tottenham were also represented at the NFL game by current players Djed Spence and Xavi Simons.

The pair were pictured on the touchline soaking up the atmosphere.

During his time in North London, he scored 24 goals and assisted 21 in 93 appearances in all competitions.

He hung up his boots in 2019 after a short spell with Burnley and finished with 106 Premier League goals to his name.

Meanwhile, in September, he was involved in another hilarious moment.

He walked out with non-league outfit Farnham Town as a mascot and towered over his footballer partner.

FA launch investigation after Tottenham stars avoid serious injury in fiesty clash with Leeds facing huge fine - The Sun
Description

THE FA have launched a probe into the conduct of Leeds United fans during Saturday's game against Tottenham.

The fiery contest saw two separate incidents of objects being thrown at players for the visiting side.

Now, per reports from the Mail, the FA is investigating the incidents, which would carry the potential of a significant fine for the Yorkshire outfit.

Pedro Porro was the first victim of the incidents, being struck by a vape as he waited to take a corner.

He was uninjured and managed to make light of the situation by pretending to smoke with the device before swinging his delivery in.

But the next incident drew no laughs, as winger Mohammed Kudus narrowly missed being struck in the head by what appeared to be a flying bottle.

The attacker had just scored the decisive goal in the 2-1 result when he performed his signature celebration by sitting on a steward's stool in front of the home fans.

An object can be seen emerging from the crowd at speed before nearly hitting Kudus and his approaching teammates.

None of the players reacted in the moment, and thankfully nobody was injured by the projectile.

And in the end it was all celebrations for Thomas Frank's men, who took all three points from Elland Road unscathed.

They head into the international break third in the league, just two points off their North London rivals Arsenal in the top spot.

The FA have confirmed to SunSport that they are looking into the matter.

Pedro Porro hit by vape during Leeds clash but Tottenham star has brilliant response - The Sun
Description

PEDRO PORRO had a brilliant response to being hit by a vape during Tottenham's win at Leeds.

Thomas Frank's side earned a hard-fought three points at Elland Road.

Porro produced the assist for Mohammed Kudus' winner and he was also able to have a bit of fun in the second half.

As the full-back prepared to take a corner in front of the Leeds fans a vape was thrown at him.

The vape hit Porro and he responded by picking it up and pretending to smoke it.

And the Spaniard wasn't done having his fun with the moment.

He wasted no time in uploading an Instagram post from the game, including an image of him holding up the vape for referee Tom Bramall.

He captioned the post: "Back on track with the boys… Didn’t feel like vaping today, fancied the three points instead."

The cheeky jab went down well with fans, who flocked to his comments to praise him for his conduct on and off the pitch.

One commenter said: "Guys a comedian hahahaha unreal"

And another fan added: "Brilliant Pedro!!! Great performance too."

The incident amused the Spurs faithful, but another moment in the second half had them tearing their hair out.

Summer signing Xavi Simons attempted an audacious rabona through ball when the game was at 1-1, but could only dribble the tame effort to the waiting feet of Joe Rodon.

The Dutchman will thank Kudus and Porro for taking the eyes off him going into the international break.
