Radu Dragusin will leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan this summer, as Roberto De Zerbi continues to make marked improvements to his first-team to avoid a disappointing 2026/27

Radu Dragusin will join Fiorentina on loan for the new season, football.london understands.

The Romanian centre-half has failed to find consistent opportune with Tottenham Hotspur since his arrival from Genoa in 2024, making just 48 appearances across all competitions.

In 2025/26, for example, the 24-year-old managed just 10 Premier League appearances, the likes of Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero favoured in the heart of defence.

And as a result of Roberto De Zerbi looking to overhaul his first team to avoid another disappointing 17th-place finish in the English top flight, it appears as though Spurs fans may have seen Dragusin play his final match in North London.

It is understood that the Lilywhites and Fiorentina have agreed a season-long loan for the defender, with an obligation to buy should he hit a certain number of matches.

That obligation sits at £21.4million, while Spurs have also reserved 10 per cent of any profit the Serie A side brings in should they opt to sell him in the future.

It has been an incredibly busy summer for Spurs, who have already welcomed a number of new arrivals to their ranks.

Not only have the club secured Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka as free agents, but they have also dropped £52m on Brighton defender, Jan Paul van Hecke, who has spent the past month impressing with the Netherlands at the World Cup.

Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur agreed an £85m deal with West Ham United for 21-year-old centre-mid, Mateus Fernandes.

Speaking about the move, the Argentine said: "I'm very excited for this next step. Spurs is a massive club and the Head Coach was a key part of why I have decided to join.

"When we spoke, it was very special. We look at football in the same way - going onto the pitch as a strong team, with fight and energy, to try and win every game.

"I can't wait to get started, to meet the fans, to meet everyone, and give everything for the Club."
