Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, and they will compete with Chelsea for his signature.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, both clubs are keen on the 23-year-old, but they will have to pay in excess of £80 million to get the deal done. The England International is a promising young player with a bright future, and he could develop into a key player for both clubs.

Rogers would improve Spurs

Tottenham need more depth and cutting edge in the final third, especially after the injury to James Maddison. Deja Kulusevski is sidelined for a few months as well. Rogers could be the ideal acquisition. He can operate in the number ten role as well as on the flanks. He will help create opportunities for his teammates and score goals. The midfielder scored 14 goals last season and picked up 16 assists.

He has all the tools to develop into a world-class player with the right guidance, and Tottenham believe that he is “the perfect profile” for them. It will be interesting to see if they are willing to pay a club record fee in order to get the deal done.

Spurs need Morgan Rogers

They have missed out on Eberechi Eze and Morgan Gibbs-White recently. Rogers would be an exceptional alternative if they could get the deal done. However, Chelsea are keen on the player as well, and they have more resources compared to Tottenham. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can act quickly and beat them to his signature.
