Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign the Monaco attacker Maghnes Akliouche at the end of the season.
They have been keeping tabs on his progress for quite some time, and they are hoping to get the deal done this summer. The report claims that the player is also a target for Manchester United. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can beat them to his signature.
Manchester United will be able to offer him Champions League football, and that could be an attractive proposition. Meanwhile, the player will cost around £40 million. Both Premier League clubs have the financial muscle to get the deal done, and it remains to be seen where he ends up.
Spurs keen on Maghnes Akliouche
Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider: “Maghnes Akliouche is obviously a player who’s been on their radar for a long time.
“Tottenham will be keeping tabs on him and they are looking to be kept informed on his future.
“Monaco are well aware of the growing interest in him and probably would sell at the right price.
“For Tottenham, I’m sure they’ll be looking to be in that race for him.
“But I think it’ll be difficult for them just due to that lack of European football and because of the probably rival interest from other clubs.”
Where will Akliouche end up?
The 24-year-old will look to compete at a high level and regularly fight for trophies. Spurs will need to convince him of their ambitions. This has been a disappointing season for them, and they are fighting for survival in the Premier League.
They need more quality going forward, and the attacker could add a new dimension in the final third. He will help create opportunities for his teammates, and he can score important goals as well. He has found the back of the net seven times this season and has produced 11 assists as well.
Akliouche will look to play regularly, and he will have to compete with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo at Manchester United. He is more likely to start every week at Tottenham. It remains to be seen what he decides.
