While Tottenham’s interest in Antoine Semenyo is thought to be serious, it has been revealed that the Lilywhites may have to battle a big Premier League rival for the Bournemouth man’s signature.
With Heung-min Son’s future at Tottenham currently under a cloud, the Lilywhites may have to enter the market for a top-class wide-forward.
There have been some suggestions over recent weeks that Spurs may replace their captain Son with Semenyo, who enjoyed a fabulous season with the Cherries, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 37 Premier League games.
Just a few days ago Sky Sports claimed that Tottenham have already done a lot of groundwork on a deal for Semenyo.
Tottenham will not have a free run at Antoine Semenyo
It has now been reported by i News that Tottenham’s interest in the Ghalan international is genuine, with the North London side said to be big fans of the exciting winger.
However, it is explained that they are not Semenyo’s only admirers, with Newcastle United also fans of the player among several other clubs.
Worryingly for Tottenham Hotspur, it is suggested that the other clubs in the race may be able to offer the 25-year-old a bigger package than the Lilywhites can.

Some sources have suggested over recent days that Tottenham have to pay £75m to land Antoine Semenyo, with Bournemouth having no intention of letting the attacker leave on the cheap.
If Tottenham met the Cherries’ asking price for the winger, that would make the Ghanian the North London club’s record signing, beating out the £65m they paid Bournemouth for Dominic Solanke a year ago.
