Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Brentford attacker Yoane Wissa.

According to former Premier League scout Mick Brown, Tottenham will be the favourites to sign the 28-year-old attacker this summer, and he is a player Thomas Frank knows well. It is no secret that Tottenham need more goals in the attack, and Wissa could be the ideal acquisition.

Tottenham linked with Brentford star

“Yoane Wissa is going to be a target for Tottenham,” he told Football Insider.

“He’s a player Thomas Frank knows well, they’ve got a good relationship and he’s served the cause well for him at Brentford.

“His goalscoring record at Brentford is fantastic, he’s got a proven track record, and his relationship with the manager will play a key role.

“So he would be a perfect fit for this team, and if he’s going to leave Brentford, I think Tottenham are going to be the favourites to sign him.”

He scored 20 goals in all competitions last season, out of which 19 were scored in the Premier League. There is no doubt that he is a reliable performer in the top flight, and he could support Dominic Solanke in the attack.

Tottenham have recently held internal talks regarding a move for the 28-year-old.

Yoane Wissa could be tempted to join

Tottenham are a much bigger club compared to Brentford, and they will be able to offer him Champions League football. It is fair to assume that the striker will be attracted to the idea of joining them. Thomas Frank joining the North London outfit makes them an even more attractive option for players.

Frank managed to get the best out of Wissa at Brentford, and he could help him do well at Tottenham as well.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can convince Brentford to sell the player. They have been trying to sign Bryan Mbeumo from the London club as well.

Brentford have already lost their manager, and they will not want to lose multiple players in one window. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Wissa is at the peak of his powers, and he will look to compete at the highest level and fight for major trophies. Brentford are unlikely to be able to provide him with that opportunity. The move to Tottenham could be the ideal next step for him.
