Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on a player who is quickly developing a reputation as one of the best defenders in the Italian top-flight.

There has been plenty of speculation suggesting that Radu Dragusin could return to the Serie A in January, with the Romanian attracting plenty of transfer interest.

Additionally, Ben Davies has only six months left to run on his contract, which means that the Lilywhites could be left short of options at the back.

Unsurprisingly, it has now emerged that the North Londoners are looking to reinforce their backline in the January window.

TEAMtalk have now claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a possible January move for Udinese centre-back Oumar Solet.

Solet arrived at the Italian club from Red Bull Salzburg 12 months ago and has had a fabulous 2025, becoming a fixture in the Udinese backline and delivering consistently solid displays.

The Frenchman’s performances have not gone unnoticed in the Premier League, with Tottenham alleged to have him in action this season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is revealed that Thomas Frank wants more competition and cover for Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, with Solet being one of the names on the club’s wishlist.

However, getting a deal over the line for the centre-back will not be easy for the Lilywhites, who are competing with several of their rivals for the player.

Chelsea and Crystal Palace have also been keeping an eye on Solet, while West Ham and Man United have been ‘long-term admirers’ of the defender.

Additionally, the Udinese star’s displays this season have also attracted ‘a great deal of attention’ from Inter Milan, AC Milan and AS Roma.
