Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in a Brazilian full-back, but they will have to overcome competition from two of the biggest clubs in Europe to land the player this summer.
Since Thomas Frank’s appointment was confirmed a couple of days ago, the transfer speculation involving Tottenham has gone into hyperdrive.
That is potential evidence that the Dane has held discussions and finalised some of the club’s transfer targets. The most significant news has been reports of Tottenham launching a huge offer for Bryan Mbeumo.
According to some sources, Frank wants Spurs to prioritise signing a centre-back, a defensive midfielder and a winger this summer.
However, it has now emerged that a full-back who Tottenham Hotspur previously had their eye on is still on their wishlist following the Dane’s arrival.
Tottenham battling Man United and Barcelona for Vanderson
It has been suggested over recent weeks that Spurs have their eye on Monaco right-back Vanderson.
Some outlets have even suggested that Tottenham are front-runners to land Vanderson, but a new update has now revealed that the Lilywhites’ pursuit of the Brazilian will not be straightforward.

This update comes from journalist Rudy Galetti, who says that not only Spurs but also Man United and Barcelona have enquired about Vanderson.
Galetti asserts that it would take an offer of €30m (£25.5m) to price the 23-year-old away from Monaco this summer.
Do Tottenham need another right-back?
In Pedro Porro and Djed Spence, Tottenham have two very talented right-backs, and Archie Gray has also shown that he can do a job in that role.
A left-back to compete with Destiny Udogie is a much more pressing need for the North Londoners ahead of the new season.
