Tottenham Hotspur icon Harry Kane could choose to return to Hotspur Way next summer as his preference is to head back to the Premier League if he leaves Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich at the end of the season, GIVEMESPORT senior football correspondent Ben Jacobs has revealed.

Although Spurs were not afraid to splash the cash before the transfer window slammed shut earlier this month, with Mohammed Kudus being the most expensive arrival thanks to his £55million switch from Premier League rivals West Ham United, head coach Thomas Frank is continuously looking to make his side more productive in the final third of the pitch.

Frank is Already Open to Kane Heading Back to Spurs

Kane has a release clause that Tottenham and other suitors will have a chance to take advantage of next summer, according to Jacobs, and the 32-year-old may be interested in heading back to familiar surroundings as he has no plans to embark on a fresh challenge in Major League Soccer or Saudi Arabia. GMS' senior football correspondent said:

"He doesn't see appeal in going to MLS yet. Saudi Pro League clubs have tried in the past and never had any encouragement so, if Kane is to leave Bayern, it would almost certainly be to go back to the Premier League. Then we have to understand if that's a return to Tottenham - and Thomas Frank has said he would be very welcome - or whether he would be prepared to put on the shirt of another club and rival to Spurs.

"I think suitors are aware of this €65million release clause, which becomes active next summer, and also understand that Kane may consider leaving Bayern after the World Cup. That's going to be one to watch next summer."

It has been suggested that Kane will have to inform Bayern Munich of his desire to leave before the end of the winter transfer window if he wants his release clause to become active a matter of months later, meaning Tottenham and other interested parties are keeping tabs on his situation.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Harry Kane won seven duels and grabbed a hat-trick during Bayern Munich's victory at Hoffenheim last weekend

The striker has been at the Allianz Arena since completing a move worth £100million from Spurs in August 2023 and ended his wait to get his hands on silverware by clinching the Bundesliga title last season, while he also won the German Super Cup earlier this year.

Tottenham boss Frank has confirmed that he would be interested in landing Kane if he decides to leave Bayern Munich, but it is understood that no discussions have taken place at this stage and the England international would seek a lucrative contract which would put him at the top of the wage bill.
