Tottenham could be about to become one of the most envied teams in world football amid news of a mammoth takeover bid.

ENIC have publicly stated Tottenham’s not for sale, having been involved with Spurs since the late 1990s.

That came amid the fallout from Daniel Levy’s shock exit from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this month.

However, there have been murmurings behind the scenes that the Lewis family would be open to big-money bids, one of which may now be imminent.

Brooklyn Earick leads plan to purchase Tottenham for £4.5bn

Amanda Staveley was previously linked with a takeover at Tottenham, but that ultimately came to little in the end.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Meanwhile, a Hong Kong-based consortium is also said to have approached Spurs, but once again that led to nothing.

Now, The Sun reports on 25 September that a fresh bid is about to be launched – and it is one that could change the landscape of the Premier League.

A U.S consortium is said to be launching a record £4.5billion takeover bid, which includes £3.3bn to buy out the entire club from ENIC and the Lewis family.

The other £1.2bn will be set aside for what is described as player budget, which is made up of wages, fees and agent payments.

The report, written by Martin Lipton, says Spurs could blow the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and indeed Arsenal out of the water if the takeover goes through.

Brooklyn Earick is said to be leading the ‘Tottenham 3.0’ project, which would instantly put Spurs at the top of the Premier League pile overnight.

Tottenham squad could be transformed with huge takeover

Former scout Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News this week that ENIC could plough £200m into the Spurs squad in January.

That would be a welcome boost, of course, but news of this fresh takeover would simply blow that sum out of the water.

There is the small matter of PSR, of course, but Spurs have managed to spend within their means for a number of years and have a little more flexibility than some.

While the details are still few and far between at this stage, this is a truly exciting development and one that could see Spurs enter a whole new era imminently.
