Tottenham have had a dramatic summer transfer window to say the least, with the Eberechi Eze drama the latest twist.

Eze looked all set to join Tottenham from Crystal Palace in what would have been a statement signing from Daniel Levy.

However, a deal now appears to be in tatters as Eze is instead closing in on a move to Arsenal in what is a double blow for Spurs fans.

It appears Tottenham are now looking at signing Morgan Rogers, but after the Eze farce and the collapse of the Morgan Gibbs-White transfer, all bets are off.

Tottenham offered Richarlison to Crystal Palace as part of Eze deal

Prior to the Eze deal collapsing, it was reported that Spurs were willing to offer Richarlison to Palace in a player-plus-cash proposal.

MORE SPURS STORIES

This news came out of the blue, especially on the back of Richarlison scoring two goals for Tottenham in their 3-0 win over Burnley last weekend.

And in the view of talkSPORT pundit Alan Brazil, it is “shocking” that news of Spurs being open to offloading Richarlison was ever made public.

“He’s a bit of a screwball, but he can play,” Brazil said on talkSPORT Breakfast on 21 August.

“Then we read suddenly he’s part of that Eze deal. How does he feel? How does that get out? It’s shocking.”

Fellow pundit and former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor replied: “Going into training this morning, he’s probably thinking ‘thanks for that. So you don’t want me after the two goals I scored?'”

Richarlison looks set to retain his starting spot vs Man City

Richarlison was superb in the win over Burnley, with one of his strikes already a Goal of the Season contender.

The Brazilian looks set to start up top against Manchester City on Saturday, flanked by Mohammed Kudus and Brennan Johnson.

Richarlison has only scored twice in 12 Premier League appearances against City, but there is no way he should be dropped on the basis of last weekend.

As Brazil says, it is rather disrespectful that this news regarding Richarlison has emerged, and the player has every right to be disappointed.
