Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signing of Omar Marmoush from Manchester City after the forward was given permission to undergo his medical ahead of his move to north London.
David Ornstein reports that the 27-year-old has said his goodbyes at Manchester City and has now been granted permission to complete his medical with Spurs.
The deal has been agreed since Sunday, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Marmoush’s contract will be officially signed on Thursday before the move is completed.
Marmoush will initially join Tottenham on loan, with the agreement including a mandatory purchase obligation that will see Spurs sign him permanently.

Medical Gives Marmoush Move Major Boost
Marmoush’s medical is another significant step towards his move to Tottenham after days of negotiations between the clubs.
Ornstein reports that Tottenham will pay £50 million for the Egyptian when the mandatory purchase obligation is triggered, with a further £10 million available in add-ons. Of that additional fee, £5 million is guaranteed.
The agreement will see Marmoush sign a four-year contract with a further one-year option once the permanent transfer is completed, potentially keeping him at Tottenham until 2031.
Romano has also confirmed that there is no sell-on clause for Eintracht Frankfurt, who previously sold Marmoush to Manchester City in January 2025.
The structure of the deal allows Tottenham to initially bring the forward in on loan before completing the permanent transfer, with the mandatory purchase clause ensuring the move becomes permanent once the agreed conditions are met.

Marmoush Says Goodbye to Manchester City
Marmoush’s departure comes just over 18 months after he joined Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The forward was named among the substitutes for City’s Premier League win over AFC Bournemouth, but did not feature from the bench as his move to Tottenham edged closer.
He has now said goodbye to his City teammates and will turn his attention towards completing his switch to Spurs.
Marmoush leaves Manchester City having made 62 appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals and providing six assists, but his move to Tottenham is set to give him the opportunity to take on a more prominent role.
Pep Guardiola previously praised the Egyptian international: “Before he joined us, he was making an incredible impact in Germany,” Guardiola said.
The Egyptian has been one of Spurs’ leading attacking targets this summer as Roberto De Zerbi looks to reshape his forward line.
When Could Marmoush Make His Tottenham Debut?
Marmoush’s medical and contract signing are now the key remaining steps before his Tottenham move can be completed, but there is already a possibility of the forward making his debut this weekend.
Tottenham face Newcastle United in north London on Saturday, with De Zerbi potentially able to call upon his new attacking addition if the necessary paperwork is completed in time.
That would give Marmoush very little time to settle into his new surroundings, but it would also provide Spurs with an immediate attacking option as they continue to reshape their squad.
He will be reunited with Savio, who Spurs also signed from Manchester City for £85 million this week, and Marmoush’s arrival would represent another major addition to De Zerbi’s attacking options.
With the medical now authorised and the contract set to be signed, Marmoush is edging ever closer to becoming a Tottenham player, with his potential debut against Newcastle offering an immediate glimpse of what he can bring to De Zerbi’s new-look attack.
