Tottenham to ‘complete Douglas Luiz deal’ as Bissouma exit beckons – Exclusive
Douglas Luiz could replace Yves Bissouma at Tottenham this summer.
In little over a month, Thomas Frank will lead Tottenham out for his first Premier League game in charge of the Lilywhites, though there is still a lot of work to be done before that.
Spurs remain in need of several new additions, while also being wary that a handful of players could leave in the coming weeks.
Bissouma has been linked with a Tottenham exit given his contract situation, and he could be replaced by Luiz, who has already featured 18 times for his country.
Luiz would be an upgrade on Bissouma
Bissouma has just one year left on his Tottenham contract, which has led to suggestions that he could be sold, amid interest from Juventus and Fenerbahçe.

In terms of his replacement, ex-Aston Villa midfielder Luiz has been linked with a move, and Paul Robinson thinks it is a deal that would make sense.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “He’s a player that I like, Luiz. He’s Premier League proven, he’s tried and tested.
“Yes, he comes into a Tottenham squad, does he go into a starting 11? Is he better than Bissouma? Arguably, that’s a good deal to do, if you can get Luiz in.
“If you’re going to let Bissouma go, somebody like Luiz coming in with his experience and UEFA Champions League experience, that’s the type of deal that you could see making sense, because that’s not going to cost Tottenham a lot of money.
“If you get a fee in for the sale of Bissouma, and you can bring somebody like Luiz in, then that’s the type of deal that makes sense.”
Tottenham need several more arrivals
Sales will happen before the start of the season. However, it is crucial that Spurs only sanction them if they have a replacement ready to come in.
That goes for Bissouma and for Cristian Romero, who has also been heavily linked with an exit this summer.
