Tanguy Ndombele often divided opinion during his time at Tottenham Hotspur.

The French midfielder signed for Spurs from Lyon in 2019 and spent three years at the club, making 91 appearances and claiming 19 goal contributions.

Ndombele was the sort of player who always gave his all in every appearance, and with eyebrows were perhaps raised at the £63 million that Tottenham paid for him, it’s fair to say that better was expected.

When Ndombele played for Tottenham, European football was common practice, but this season under Thomas Frank, there is a real fight to ensure that remains the case next season.

With the January transfer window heating up, Tottenham might be about to make their most exciting addition – on paper – since Ndombele, and it’s not Conor Gallagher…

It’s been claimed that Tottenham are also pressing ahead with a deal for Yan Diomande, and this could be a seriously exciting deal for the club.

It would appear that Frank will be getting more time to turn things around in North London, with new players seemingly set to be added to the squad.

The talented 19-year-old is currently with RB Leipzig and given that he’s bagged seven goals and claimed four assists this season, it’s a signing that makes sense.

The hype around the deal was massive and at the time, Ndombele was wanted by every top European club keen to land a midfield player.

With the 19-year-old still relatively raw, some caution might be needed for the youngster but the hope will be that he can star more than Ndombele did in the Premier League.
