Tottenham could be about to get a huge boost in regards to Radu Dragusin’s long-term injury.

The Romanian has been sidelined since January with an ACL injury, and the exact length of his absence was still publicly unknown ahead of the opening day of the new campaign.

Dragusin’s future at Spurs was called into question over the summer, but with the transfer deadline having now passed, he remains a firm part of the squad in N17.

Thomas Frank is already having to deal with plenty of injuries just months into his reign, but he could be about to receive a boost over the defender’s fitness.

This article includes exclusive comments from Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham.

Luka Vuskovic exit hints at imminent Radu Dragusin return

Luka Vuskovic’s emergence was a major highlight of Tottenham’s summer, as the youngster turned in some hugely promising displays in pre-season.

There had been plenty of speculation that the Croatian could be in line for a regular spot in the Lilywhites’ matchday squads this term, after spending the last two years out on loan.

However, the 18-year-old has ultimately been handed another opportunity to impress elsewhere, having joined Hamburg on loan until the end of the season.

Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that the decision not to involve Vuskovic this season could hint at an imminent return for Dragusin.

“I just wonder if maybe Dragusin is further in his development than maybe we thought,” Wenham said.

“Maybe that’s why they’ve loaned Vuskovic out. It might be because Dragusin is making rapid progress and should be available soon.”

Tottenham cannot rush Radu Dragusin return

Dragusin has been out of action at Tottenham for months, and as a result, it is hugely important that they do not rush him back in the final stages of his recovery.

ACL injuries are always a major concern in football, and it can be very easy for players to suffer a recurrence of the same injury if they take on too much too soon in their road to recovery.

With that in mind, Frank must ensure that he uses the Romanian sparingly when he first becomes available for selection again, or he risks damaging his career even further.

As far as Vuskovic is concerned, it is imperative that the decision to send him back out on loan was taken with his best interests in mind, rather than in relation to Dragusin’s predicament.

He is a hugely promising young talent, but he will only reach his potential if Tottenham continue to nurture him carefully.
