Tottenham Hotspur have been linked to the move for the AC Milan attacker Rafael Leao during the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past as well, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to make a move for him.

According to Ben Jacobs, AC Milan are going through financial difficulties, and clubs might have an outside chance of signing the Portuguese international. However, he is likely to cost a substantial amount of money.

Can Spurs sign Leao?

Jacobs revealed on Last Word on Spurs podcast: “Like we said on the last show, Tottenham appreciate Rafael Leao. It’s just about the cost and also the fact that the player is kind of in love with Milan, and this is probably the only window where you might stand an outside chance. I think he’s just going to stay, and I’ve said that many times, but it’s the one season where Milan need money and they’ve got no European football.”

Rafael Leao could replace Son

Tottenham appreciate the 26-year-old attacker, and he could prove to be an excellent addition. They need a dynamic attacker to replace Son Heung-min, and Leao could be the ideal fit. He is capable of operating on the left flank, but he is versatile enough to slot into the central roles and on the right flank as well.

He registered 25 goal contributions last season, and he has been labelled as a “great player” by Ronaldinho in the past. There is no doubt that he has the physicality and technical ability to succeed in the Premier League, and he could develop into a key player for Tottenham.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Chelsea and Manchester United have also attempted to sign the player in the past. There is also interest in the player from Saudi Arabia, and Tottenham must look to move quickly if they are serious about signing him.
