Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Liverpool attacking midfielder Harvey Elliott during the summer transfer window.
According to former Premier League scout Mick Brown, Liverpool and Newcastle United are keen on the 22-year-old midfielder, and they could look to test the waters for him with an offer.
“There’s no shortage of interest in Harvey Elliott,” he told Football Insider.
“Newcastle and Tottenham are the latest names I’ve heard, both of them are going to test the waters and see what it would take to bring him in.
“They’ll speak to his agent and find out what he’s asking for and what Liverpool are going to want.”
Liverpool exit would be ideal for the player
Elliott needs regular time at this stage of his career, and Liverpool will not be able to provide him with that. Leaving the Premier League champions could be ideal for his development. It will be interesting to see if he is willing to join Tottenham or Newcastle.
He needs to join a club where he will play regularly. Spurs will have to provide him with gametime assurances for the move to go through.
Harvey Elliott would be a solid addition
Elliott has shown his qualities in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League during his cameo with Liverpool, and there is no doubt that he is good enough for the biggest clubs in the country. He is capable of operating in multiple attacking roles, and he will help create opportunities for his teammates and find the back of the net as well.
The attacking midfielder was outstanding for England under-21s in the recently concluded Euros earlier this summer. He will look to establish himself as a player for his club and country going forward.
