Tottenham Hotspur could look to make a move for the Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard during the summer transfer window.
The 31-year-old has been a key player for Brentford, and he was outstanding under Thomas Frank. According to Alasdair Gold, Tottenham could look to test Brentford’s resolve with a move for the experienced Denmark International.
Norgaard would add control, composure and defensive cover in the middle of the park for Tottenham if they can get the deal done. Apart from his quality as a player, his leadership skills and experience could prove to be invaluable for the Tottenham dressing room. Gold has revealed that Thomas Frank loves the player, and the opportunity to reunite with him could be tempting.
Thomas Frank admires the midfielder
He wrote on Football London: “It’s a shame (for Frank anyway) that Christian Norgaard signed a new deal towards the end of last season because I would not have been shocked if Spurs had made a move for him as he was one of the more underrated midfielders in the Premier League last season.
“Frank absolutely loves the experienced Dane and thinks he’s a special leader and no doubt would have wanted that at Spurs as someone who knows his demands inside out being in the centre of the team. Perhaps they might still test the water with Brentford.”
Tottenham could use Christian Norgaard
Tottenham need to improve their midfield options, and it remains to be seen whether they can sign the player. They have already been linked with multiple Brentford players in recent weeks. Bryan Mbeumo, Mikkel Damsgaard, Nathan Collins and Yoane Wissa have all been linked with Tottenham.
It will be interesting to see if they can get a deal done for the experienced midfielder during the coming weeks.
Tottenham finished in the bottom half of the league table last season, and Frank will be expected to turn things around. He will look to help Tottenham push for Champions League qualification next season. They must look to plug the gaps in their team during the summer transfer window, and signing an experienced midfielder should be one of their priorities.
