Tottenham Hotspur have their eyes on an exciting young winger, and they could land him for a bargain fee this summer, according to one journalist.
A few days ago, we reported that Tottenham Hotspur had shown interest in the highly-rated teenage winger Roony Bardghji.
However, Spurs are not alone in the race, with both Manchester City and Newcastle United also linked with a move for the Copenhagen youngster.
Given that he is Swedish, the Lilywhites will be hoping he follows in the footsteps of Lucas Bergvall, who made a switch to north London last summer.
Tottenham are in the mix for Roony Bardghji
Journalist Dean Jones has weighed in on the speculation surrounding Bardghji, putting a surprisingly low valuation of £8m on him.
He believes a club will move early in the summer to secure the winger before his contract runs out at the end of the year.
Speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, the host said: “Right, last one and a very quick. Roony Bardghji, who obviously is an incredibly talented young player, Copenhagen, who is one of the most highly rated talents in Europe, but who has not played a game this season because he suffered a very serious injury to his knee last May or so in one of the last games of the campaign.

“So we haven’t seen at all what, what, you know, what’s happened this season. His rehabilitation appears to be going quite well, but it was always going to be long-term.
“His contract actually ends in December, which is pretty weird, but it’s just the way of how this works sometimes.
“But I would be very surprised if there’s not serious interest in him this summer. And also if Copenhagen weren’t tempted to sell, given that they’ve just done a season pretty much without him and that he could walk away for free in December.
Jones replied: “Yeah, such a good player. Be able to get him for about seven to eight million pounds in the summer by kind of getting in there early. And I think someone will do that,”
Potential Premier League battle for Bardghji
However, Tottenham Hotspur may not have it all their own way in the race for Roony Bardghji. The Lilywhites are far from the only Premier League club sniffing around the Swedish youngster.
Jones continued: “I’ll be surprised if he did actually become a free agent at the end of the calendar year as opposed to moving in this summer transfer window.
“Man City, Tottenham and Newcastle are the names that I’m given on him in terms of concrete levels of interest.
“Obviously at the moment, they haven’t really been able to be active on anything because he hasn’t been playing, he’s been injured for so long.
“But he’s now on the comeback trail, he’s working his way back. And so all three of those will be keeping close tabs on his situation, hoping to see exactly the same player that they were seeing before that injury.
“Aston Villa, one that’s been mentioned to me as well. So I wouldn’t be surprised if they are in that conversation.”
