Kevin Danso was involved in something extraordinary as Austria thrashed San Marino in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday evening.
With Radu Dragusin still on the mend from his ACL injury, Danso has been the only fit centre-back option Thomas Frank has had to turn to apart from his two main starters: Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.
However, with the Dutchman and Argentine remaining fit, the 27-year-old has only had two starts so far this season and is yet to start a single game in the Premier League.
Thomas Frank has primarily used the former Lens man as a late substitute to help Tottenham Hotspur hold onto leads this season, but the international break offered the defender a rare opportunity to get 90 minutes under his belt.
Tottenham defender Kevin Danso is involved in something extraordinary
The former Lens man played the full game on Thursday as Austria thrashed minnows San Marino 10-0 at the Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna.
While losing by margins as big as that is not rare for San Marino, Austria achieved something during the game that one hardly ever sees.
It turns out that every single outfield player who started the game for Austria either scored or assisted, including Danso, who picked up an assist.
