Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic has now spoken openly about where his heart lies and how he sees the months ahead unfolding amidst interest from clubs in Europe.

Luka Vuskovic has been catching the eye of several clubs across Europe, with RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Hamburg all keen on securing the centre-back as he continues to develop away from north London.

Tottenham, on the other hand, remain firm in their resolve not to allow the young talent to drift away from north London, with internal discussions already taking place around how best to keep him tied to the club.

Talk of a new contract for Vuskovic has already surfaced as one possible tactic to keep interested clubs at arm’s length, while a January recall from his loan spell has also been flagged as an option should circumstances demand it.

Speaking to Hamburger Abendblatt in an interview, Luka Vuskovic was asked about who manages his career and the role Tottenham has played in shaping his path so far.

The teenager reflected positively on the decisions he has made so far, saying: “Of course, I have an agent,” he said.

“Tottenham also decide which club is best for my development. Every step so far has been perfect for me. At Radom, I was guaranteed playing time if I trained well.

“Poland is a physically strong league. In Belgium, the intensity and quality were even higher. So, I am taking it one step at a time.”

It is believed that Tottenham have a clause in Vuskovic’s loan deal that allows them to cut short his loan stay in January.

While Thomas Frank’s side can exercise that option if injuries strike, the Croatia international insists his focus remains on seeing out the season with Hamburg.

“I have not discussed that [returning in January] with Tottenham. My focus is on HSV. I expect to be able to stay here until the end of the season. HSV is a great club. I am very happy here,” Vuskovic explained.

The Tottenham defender’s brother, Mario, is also on the books at Hamburg SV, although he is currently serving a long-term ban that runs until the end of next year.

A few months ago, Vuskovic openly spoke about his desire to extend his stay at Hamburg beyond this season to play alongside his brother, and that stance has now been reiterated as he looks ahead.

“It is my dream to play alongside my brother at HSV. I would give everything for that. Tottenham knows that too. But I am their player and I am under contract there.

“In football, you never know what will happen in the coming months. We will decide at the right time,” he added.
