Dejan Kulusevski’s injury status just got updated thanks to an interview with a Swedish outlet. The news is hopeful, although not without consequence.

The Swede is set to miss the World Cup qualifiers and will miss the League Stage of the Champions League competition. Of course, should Tottenham progress in the top-flight tournament, he could be included a little later in the year.

The status is good. The rehab is going well. Every day I wake up with the same hunger and even more hunger with each passing day. The status is very good, and I will be on a football field in the very, very near future, he tells Viaplay.

If everything goes as it should, as it has so far, I am very confident that I will be on the field in two to three months.

Kulu is one of 6 players currently sidelined. It’s a list that boasts James Maddison, Radu Dragusin, Dominic Solanke, and Kota Takai.

Misdiagnosis of the group came from Ange Postecoglou, who told Spurs fans just before he left, ‘He’s got a minor issue with his ankle, which has been grumbling a bit, also in pre-season. It is just too much for this game. Now we have the international break, so hopefully he can be back after that.’

Maddison is out for possibly the entire season, and there is no concrete news from anyone else in the Spurs squad. James suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee during a pre-season friendly against Newcastle United on August 3, 2025, in Seoul, South Korea. This is the same knee he injured in May 2025, which caused him to miss the end of the previous season, including Spurs’ Europa League final win over Manchester United.
