Tottenham Hotspur could look to win the race to sign RB Salzburg star Dorgeles Nene in the coming months, according to reports - with Spurs keen on beating other clubs to his signature in the coming weeks.
Spurs were poor this season by finishing 17th in the Premier League, and only their Europa League win saved what was a poor campaign on domestic soil. It has given them a place in the Champions League, which will attract a better calibre of player - and so Nene will be in their sights after a solid campaign in Austria.
Report: Tottenham 'Considering' Nene Move, £21m Gets Deal Done
The winger has been in fine form for Salzburg this season
The report by TEAMtalk states that Nene is one of the 'most followed youngsters in Europe' - and Tottenham are considering a move this summer as a result.
The 22-year-old Malian, who is under contract until 2028, is attracting interest from multiple clubs across England, Germany and Italy but imminent new boss Thomas Frank could look to steal a march to improve their wide ranks in the off-season.
Tottenham have been monitoring the 'speedy attacker's progress closely, and although a formal move hasn't been made, they view him as a player with strong potential, being on their radar in the process.
Tottenham are looking closely at various targets, despite current Brentford boss Frank not being in their dugout just yet, and the African star is on their shortlist - where he feels he can progress to the next level and take on a new challenge in the Premier League.
However, it's thought that Spurs have 'exploded' quickly to strike a deal, with other top clubs circling the star from across Europe. Salzburg are thought to be open to selling Nene if the right offer arrives, with £21million being enough to get a deal over the line for his services - and given that he can play across the front three, that would be a vital asset for Frank to utilise.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Dorgeles Nene has seven goals in 24 caps for Mali.
Spurs already have Son Heung-min, Wilson Odobert, Richarlison and Mikey Moore who are able to feature on the left-flank, whilst Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski are both top performers on the right - but with Richarlison being linked with a move away and Moore still being a teenager, Nene could be the ideal bridge.
