Tottenham could be plotting a surprise move for a high-profile former Premier League striker who is now plying his trade in the Saudi Pro League.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with several Premier League forwards this summer window, with the likes of Yoane Wissa and Rodrigo Muniz, just to name a few.

Still, no concrete offer has been put in for any of these forwards, as Tottenham continue to monitor their situation closely, with Thomas Frank reported to be looking to add more experience to his side.

It is now being claimed that a former Premier League forward, who earns £416,000 a week, is on the radar of Tottenham, who are looking to bolster their attack.

Tottenham eye Aleksandar Mitrovic transfer from Al-Hilal

This report comes from Fichajes, who claim that Tottenham are among a host of Premier League clubs eyeing a summer move for Al-Hilal striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The centre-forward has been banging in the goals since making a switch to the Middle East after a spell at Fulham, scoring 68 times in 79 appearances across all competitions.

Spurs are said to be in competition with Manchester United and Newcastle, who are reportedly monitoring the 30-year-old forward as a potential option up front, with Mitrovic’s experience and goal-scoring prowess catching their attention.

The Saudi Arabian outfit secured the signature of the former Fulham man two seasons ago for £46m, but it is claimed that Al-Hilal could be set to make a loss this summer as they are open to selling him for £26m.

The forward himself is believed to be seriously considering the possibility of returning to England after spells at both Newcastle and Fulham previously in his career, where he made a total of 129 appearances during those stints.
