Tottenham Hotspur are considering Crystal Palace captain Dean Henderson as a potential replacement for Guglielmo Vicario, according to Daily Mail journalist Simon Jones.

The north London side have earmarked the former Manchester United goalkeeper as an experienced option in their ongoing search for a new shot-stopper.

Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu and Manchester City star James Trafford are also believed to be among the names on their radar.

Henderson, who arrived at Palace from Old Trafford in the summer of 2023, is under contract until 2028.

Tottenham Considering Dean Henderson

According to Jones, a new goalkeeper is on the agenda for Tottenham ahead of the summer, with Vicario now looking at a potential return to Italy.

Inter Milan are believed to be in pole position to land the 29-year-old, who has failed to convince this season, along with deputy Antonin Kinsky.

Henderson, meanwhile, has proved a consistent presence between the posts for Palace and has kept 10 clean sheets in 29 league appearances this season.

Only Arsenal’s David Raya, Manchester City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma and Everton’s Jordan Pickford have managed more shutouts in 2025/26 than Henderson, who was included in Thomas Tuchel’s 35-man England squad this week.

Vicario Set to Undergo Surgery

Tottenham could be without Vicario for their next run of Premier League games, as the Italy international is expected to undergo hernia surgery.

The 29-year-old has been dealing with the problem for several matches but remains in contention to start the crucial relegation six-pointer at home against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Vicario is set to undergo surgery next week during the international break, and Spurs hope to have him fit again by April.

His absence could mean Kinsky’s return to the starting line-up, with the goalkeeper yet to feature since conceding three goals in 15 minutes during Spurs' Champions League last-16 tie at Atletico Madrid on 10 March.
