Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a summer deal to sign Juventus star Lloyd Kelly as they prepare to lose key members of their squad, according to TEAMtalk.

Spurs have had a poor season and currently sit just five points above the relegation zone in the Premier League, and out of both domestic cup competitions, meaning they must win the Champions League in order to somehow qualify for the Champions League next season.

That means they are likely to be forced to sell some key players from their squad, and the board have already begun making plans for the transfer window to strengthen for next season, including a new central defender who knows the Premier League well.

Tottenham Eyeing Lloyd Kelly Deal

Kelly, who has been described as 'incredible', joined Newcastle on a free transfer two summers ago from Bournemouth but struggled for first-team action and made the move to Serie A to join Juventus on an initial loan deal, where the manager was a certain Igor Tudor.

That move then became permanent last summer, and Kelly has become a key player for the side this season, as they push to earn Champions League qualification once again. But Spurs have been paying close attention to his performances, and want to bring him back to England.

Juventus value the Englishman at around €50m (£43.5m), which would be a fraction of the amount Spurs would expect to receive should either Cristian Romero or Micky Van de Ven leave, but more than double what he cost the Italian side a year ago.

Tottenham Will Lose a Centre Back

It seems almost inevitable that Spurs will lose at least one of Van de Ven or Romero this summer, with both players picking up major interest from some of Europe's top clubs.

Romero has decided he wants out and would like to move to Spain, while the Netherlands international is said to be keen on a move to Liverpool. But the club would likely demand around £80m for both players, which would allow them to reinvest on Kelly and have plenty of money leftover.

Kelly's form in Italy has been impressive and GIVEMESPORT asked ChatGPT if he would be a good replacement for their current defensive duo. This was its response:
