Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Juventus striker Jonathan David.

The Canadian International joined the Italian outfit at the start of the season, but his performances have not been at the desired level. According to a report from Fichajes, the Italian club could look to sell the player and raise some money from his departure. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham follow up on their interest with an official proposal to get the deal done.

Jonathan David could be a useful addition

The striker has shown his quality in Ligue 1, and he has the technical attributes to do well in the Premier League as well. He could compete with Dominic Solanke for the starting spot at the North London club. The England International has not been able to find the back of the net regularly, and more competition for places would be ideal for Tottenham.

David is still very much at the peak of his career, and he will look to get back to his best. Joining the Premier League could be an exciting opportunity for him. Tottenham have an ambitious project and a quality team. They could bring out the best in the player once again.

David has not been at his best

The striker has scored just once in all competitions this season. Juventus would have expected a lot better when they signed him. Meanwhile, Zinedine Zidane has labelled him as an “excellent” player and urged the Italian to be more patient with him.

It will be interesting to see if Juventus decide to cash in on the player in the coming months. Tottenham certainly have the finances to get the deal across the line. David was signed on a free transfer, and Spurs will hope to sign him on a reasonable deal.
