Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Porto striker Samu Aghehowa in the coming months, and they will face competition from better rivals Arsenal.

According to CaughtOffside, the player is valued at €100 million because of a release clause in his contract, and Porto are unwilling to sell him for a bargain. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to pay up in the coming months.

Spurs need Samu Aghehowa

There is no doubt that they need a quality striker, and the 21-year-old would be a long-term acquisition. He could compete with Dominic Solanke for the starting spot. The England international has not been able to find the back of the net consistently, and he needs more support in the attack.

Aghehowa has eight goals in ten appearances this season, and he’s a player in red-hot form. He impressed with the Spanish national team during the Olympics, helping them win the gold medal.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be quite exciting for him, and he will look to test himself at the highest level. The Spaniard has the physicality and technical attributes for English football, and he could settle quickly and make an instant impact. Aghehowa has been hailed as a “super player”.

The opportunity to join a big club like Tottenham will be exciting for him as well.

Arsenal eyeing Aghehowa

Meanwhile, Arsenal are keeping tabs on his development as well. They have signed Viktor Gyokeres earlier this summer, but they need more depth in the attacking unit. Another young striker would be ideal.

The 21-year-old could compete with the Swedish international for the starting spot. More competition for places will help the Gunners improve. However, the asking price could complicate any potential move. Porto will have to be reasonable with their demands for the move to go through.
