Tottenham are in the market to sign a new number 10 during the summer transfer window as they continue their big spending.
It's been a productive market for the North London club so far, which is no surprise after two disappointing years in the Premier League, which saw them finish 17th, twice on the bounce.
Martin Dubravka, Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, and Jan-Paul van Hecke have all arrived through the door at Tottenham so far. That is an incredible start to the window, considering we're only in the middle of July.
Spurs' business doesn't appear to be over, as they continue to be linked with new signings. It's an opportunity for them to buy players capable of helping Roberto De Zerbi implement his style of play.
Tottenham eye new number 10
According to a report from Area Napoli, Tottenham are interested in signing attacking midfielder Antonio Vergara in the summer transfer window.
The report claims that a meeting is set to take place between Napoli's president Aurelio De Laurentiis and agent Mario Giuffredi to discuss Vergara's future.
Napoli are hoping to tie the attacking midfielder down to a new contract, with a large number of clubs showing an interest in signing the 23-year-old.
Atalanta, Roma, Como and Bournemouth are also keen on the 'special' star alongside Tottenham.
It remains to be seen whether Vergara would be keen on a move to Tottenham or even a departure from Napoli at all.
Tottenham also in the market for winger
Tottenham also appear to be in the market for a new winger during the summer transfer window, proving that they are willing to reinforce every position on the pitch for De Zerbi.
Reports have claimed that they are interested in signing Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup, who could cost in the region of £43 million after an impressive World Cup.
After a disappointing few years, Tottenham are going big in the market as they desperately try to climb back into Europe.
Finishing in the European places next season does feel like a stretch, considering they've finished 17th over the last couple of seasons. Their transfer window shows they're giving it a good go.
