Tottenham are in the market for reinforcements ahead of the summer transfer window, and according to a report from Team Talk they could look to make a move for a Japanese international.

A lot of Tottenham's transfer business could hinge on whether they remain in the Premier League this season, as it's going to be difficult to attract the calibre of player they want to if they drop down to the Championship.

A win over Wolves at the weekend has boosted their chances of survival, although West Ham also secured an important victory over Everton.

The North London club will be planning for the summer market already, despite the uncertainty surrounding what league they will be playing in next term.

Tottenham Eyeing Japanese International

According to a report from Team Talk, Tottenham are one of the sides showing an interest in signing Ayase Ueda from Feyenoord ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Japanese international is enjoying a phenomenal campaign, scoring 25 league goals, more than Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

Spurs are set to face a host of competition for his signature, including from fellow Premier League side Leeds.

Tottenham are believed to have a long-standing interest in Ueda, and the competition for his signature could become fierce if he has an impressive World Cup campaign.

There is a strong chance that Tottenham are in the market for a new forward in the summer transfer window, especially if they fail to make Randal Kolo-Muani’s loan deal permanent.

New Forward Could be a Priority

Signing a new striker in the summer could be a major priority for Tottenham, given the inconsistency of their current options.

Richarlison has struggled to remain fit, and although he's impressed at times when given the opportunity, it's clear to see that he's not the preferred choice in attack.

It's a similar situation for Dominic Solanke, who suffered yet another injury against Wolves last weekend.

Kolo-Muani, as mentioned, is only currently on loan at Tottenham, and the French international has struggled to hit the heights expected of him this season.

Whether Ueda is the answer remains to be seen, but there's every chance that Tottenham will try to sign a new forward.
