Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Monaco attacker Maghnes Akliouche during the summer transfer window.

They have been heavily linked with the move for Savinho from Manchester City, but the Premier League are not keen on selling the Brazilian this summer.

Tottenham have already failed to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, and they are now looking at potential alternatives. According to Football Insider, they have identified the French attacker as a cheaper alternative to Savinho.

Tottenham eyeing Maghnes Akliouche

“[Tottenham] have shown interest in Savinho at Manchester City, but City have rebuffed their interest so far, saying they don’t want to lose Savinho”, Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider.

“They’re trying to price the Brazilian out of a move, so Tottenham are looking at potential alternatives to him.

“The one that seems to be catching their eye at the minute is Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche, a 23-year-old who is a very talented young player, and would be a cheaper alternative to Savinho as well.”

Can Spurs sign Akliouche?

It will be interesting to see if they can get a deal done for the 23-year-old. He has the quality to do well in the Premier League, and he could prove to be a superb long-term investment for Tottenham. He has the technical attributes to thrive in English football, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Tottenham have done well to groom talented young players in recent years, and they will hope to help the Frenchman improve further. If they can help him fulfil his potential, they could have a future star on their hands. They will now hope to negotiate a reasonable deal with Monaco in the coming weeks.
