Tottenham Hotspur have taken steps to explore a move for Tarik Muharemovic, but another European club are also very much in the race for the Sassuolo star.
With a big question mark remaining over Cristian Romero’s future at Spurs, the Lilywhites have seemingly already started identifying possible centre-back targets ahead of the summer.
Several recent reports have claimed that Tottenham are ready to push ahead with a move for Tarik Muharemovic, whose stock has grown substantially in light of his solid displays for Sassuolo.
In fact, some outlets have even claimed that Sassuolo’s chairman has travelled to London to discuss the 23-year-old’s sale to Spurs.

According to a report in TuttoSport (as relayed by Sport Witness), Inter Milan are also intent on securing the services of the Bosnia international.
In fact, it is alleged that the Nerazzurri are determined to make a move for Muharemovic, even if they hang onto Alessandro Bastoni, who has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona.
Christian Chivu’s side have already held ‘showdown talks’ with Saussulo regarding the centre-half ahead of the summer window.

However, the report adds that Tottenham are now ‘making enquiries’ for Muharemovic and are threatening to disrupt Inter’s pursuit.

TuttoSport say that Inter have floated the idea of potentially offering cash plus one of their players to Sassuolo for the 23-year-old.
The Scudetto winners have a good relationship with Sassuolo and have tried to insert Mattia Mosconi in a deal to take Muharemovic to the San Siro.
However, Neroverdi are not in favour of having players included in the deal and want €35m (£30.5m) for their star defender.
