Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Bournemouth attacker Antoine Seemenyo, and they will face a lot of competition for his signature.
The 25-year-old African has been outstanding in the Premier League this season, and several clubs are monitoring his situation. His price tag has increased a lot because of his performances, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can afford him.
It would not be a surprise if Bournemouth demanded in excess of £100 million for him.
Spurs could use more quality and depth in the wide areas, and Semenyo would be an exceptional acquisition. However, they will not want to pay over the odds for him.
Antoine Semenyo is a player in demand
Pete O’Rourke said on Football Insider: “Yeah, well look, there’s no surprise that some of these biggest clubs in England are looking at Semenyo.
“Liverpool, we know their links with Bournemouth through Richard Hughes, and Manchester United showed some interest in Semenyo in the summer.
“Tottenham also showed a bit of an interest during the summer, and I’m sure Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal would all consider Semenyo.
“The thing is for all those interested clubs, his price tag’s going up week by week and Bournemouth could put it up beyond £100million if his performances continue.”
Semenyo deserves a big move
The 25-year-old will want to compete at the highest level as well. The move to Tottenham could be the ideal next step for him. He would get to test himself in the Champions League with them and fight for trophies. He has proven himself with the Cherries, and he deserves to take the next step in his career.
Any move in January since highly unlikely. Bournemouth will not want to lose their best player in the middle of the season. They will not be able to replace him properly. Tottenham might have to wait until the summer transfer window in order to get the deal done.
