Tottenham Hotspur supporters have voiced their frustrations with the club hierarchy following their failed pursuit of Bournemouth star, Antoine Semenyo.
Tottenham Hotspur were handed a major blow in their pursuit of Antoine Semenyo, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the Lilywhites are no longer in the race for the talented wide forward.
This update comes just over 24 hours after it was claimed that Spurs were looking to push aggressively in their pursuit of Semenyo.
Tottenham fans were never particularly optimistic about their club’s chances of landing the Bournemouth star, and they have once more delivered a strong reaction following the latest news provided by Romano.
Tottenham fans react to failed Antoine Semenyo pursuit
Many Spurs supporters have not wasted time in calling out the club’s board for what they perceive as another failed attempt to land a top-tier player, with several fans expressing their dismay across social media.
Some had already conceded defeat in the pursuit of the attacker and have begun naming alternative options for the left-wing position, such as Iliman Ndiaye, to ensure the squad is sufficiently reinforced.
Regarding the perceived lack of ambition from the hierarchy, one fan said: “I thought they were attacking the situation 😒”, while another stated: “Spurs should actively target Iliman Ndiaye or Christos Tzolis for the left wing forward position. Both players possess the quality, versatility, and technical ability required to succeed at the club and would add creativity, directness, and goal threat to the attack.”

Expressing frustration at the recruitment strategy, one more commented: “I wonder what low wage punt we’ll get spoilt with”, as another urged the club to move on, saying: “Brilliant….so we can stop wasting the entire window chasing yet another player who doesn’t want to join…..move on”.
Another supporter made a comparison between the old and new ownership, saying: “Oh well. Back to the levy days. Nothing has changed. Hope everyone is happy with us playing championship football.”
one more added: “Well done ENIC , let’s get a 17 year old instead for a third of the price” while a final commented: “They will never ever change enic out!”
Semenyo’s failed pursuit leaves question marks over Thomas Frank’s backing
The transfer window appears to be off to a disappointing start, even before it has officially opened for Tottenham Hotspur, as the decision to withdraw from the race for a primary target creates uncertainty surrounding the club’s plans.
Reports from recent weeks have claimed that the Spurs board are looking to back Thomas Frank in the winter window, but with the club pulling out of the race for Antoine Semenyo, it raises significant questions regarding the level of support the Dane will actually receive.
During the last winter window, the injury-hit Spurs side under Ange Postecoglou received a rather tame level of backing, with the club adding Kevin Danso, Mathys Tel, and Kinsky, who are players that are arguably not as talented as the individuals currently in the starting eleven.
