Tottenham Hotspur fans are debating what Lucas Bergvall would be worth in today’s inflated transfer market, as the Swedish teenager continues to grow in stature at the club.
Lucas Bergvall is a player with huge potential, and Tottenham Hotspur will be over the moon that they managed to sign him in February 2024.
The Swede, 19, announced himself to the Lilywhite faithful in style last season, having managed a clean sweep of three individual awards in what was his debut campaign.
Barcelona were in the race for the Spurs man, but Tottenham managed to secure the services of Bergvall, having reached a £15.7 million agreement with Djurgardens.
Tottenham fans discuss Lucas Bergvall’s current market value
One pundit believes that Bergvall’s value has more than tripled, stating that in this current market, Bergvall is valued at £110 million, which, for context, is around the same price Arsenal paid for Declan Rice, who was bought for £5 million less.
Spurs fans taking to social media have now named how much they think Bergvall would cost in the current transfer market, with various prices being thrown around.
One fan said: “One hundred million billion pounds.” Another stated: “He is a wonderkid with great potential. Current EL champion. £80M at least. However, he is priceless to us and worth more if he becomes a legend here. First year started well.”
MORE SPURS STORIES
Another Tottenham commented on Lucas Bergvall: “£45-55m from a small club, £80-90 if he was at Barca or any top two team in each top five league.”
Another opined: “I mean, we bought him literally a year ago for about £15m, so I am guessing slightly more than that?”
One more added: “£30-40m at current ability, massive potential but needs to keep developing. He is not silky enough to play as a 10.”
More comments kept coming in: “£80 million and I mean it, the potential makes up most of the value,” while another said: “If I am realistic, £65 million right now.” Others priced him at: “£65 million now but will grow. COYS🤍” and “£125 million.”
Bergvall’s rise and growing value at Spurs
Bergvall is currently valued at €40 million (£34 million) on Transfermarkt, but he would almost certainly fetch far more than that if Tottenham decided to sell him.
The teenager has been making significant strides in a Spurs shirt, having been shortlisted for the European Golden Boy award.
Bergvall has also been described as a generational talent by Tottenham’s head of scouting, highlighting just how highly regarded he is within the club’s setup.
