Tottenham fans have taken to social media to question the club’s medical department once again, following Dominic Solanke’s latest update on his injury situation.
Tottenham Hotspur have been without Dominic Solanke for several weeks now, with the forward sidelined due to an ankle problem that has disrupted his start to the season.
Yesterday, the striker took to social media to reveal that he had undergone minor surgery to resolve the issue and speed up his recovery process.
Solanke also gave supporters a timeline for his return, revealing that he would be back in the very near future, with the update coming just as Spurs head into an international break that could allow him some extra time to get closer to full fitness.
Tottenham supporters who came across Solanke’s post wasted little time in sharing their thoughts, with some sending messages of support and others using it as another chance to voice their frustrations with the medical team.
One fan commented: “Gotta suck to have those little injuries that you hope just heal with time but do not. Hope to see him soon. A healthy Dom will be great in this side I think.”
Another Tottenham supporter was less optimistic, writing: “Will be back for two games max then back in the medical room.” A third supporter added sarcastically: “Very near feature yeah mate, see you in March,” while one more said bluntly: “Desperately need him back.”

Others were quick to question the timeline, with one response reading: “‘Very near future’ means next year?” Another fan summed up the wider mood by stating: “Unfortunately should have been surgery months ago! Probably will not see him on the field till December.”
Concerns over Spurs medical department
It is not a shock that supporters are sceptical about when Solanke will actually return, given the club’s track record when it comes to managing injuries in recent years.
Last season, it was suggested that Dejan Kulusevski would only be out for a few weeks, yet Ange Postecoglou’s comments proved far from accurate, with the Swede ending up sidelined for months.
Thomas Frank has already stressed that Tottenham are working hard to get a grip on the injury problems this season, but the evidence so far leaves plenty of room for doubt as to whether those efforts are genuinely paying off.
