Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Leroy Sane on a free transfer this summer, and fans are already making their opinions known – they are all saying the same thing.

With the season now over, the transfer rumours and links are in full swing. Just yesterday, it was revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane on a free transfer.

The Bayern Munich man’s contract is set to expire this June, and he has rejected Bayern’s offer of a new three-year deal on a reduced salary.

The wide forward is not keen on signing the new contract from the German champions, having recently appointed super-agent Pini Zahavi to act on his behalf.

Sane is no stranger to playing in England, having recorded 83 goal contributions in 139 games for Manchester City, winning two Premier League titles in the process.

Tottenham fans, well aware of the latest transfer development, have taken to social media to give their verdict on whether they would love Leroy Sane to join Spurs. The response was unanimous, with many urging the club to look elsewhere.

One fan said: “I prefer Tel.” Another stated: “Nah.” One questioned: “Do not get why we are not in for Liam Delap.”

Another simply urged Tottenham to go for younger players than 29-year-old Leroy Sane: “No thanks. Need young(er) players with a lot of talent and ambition rather than someone who has not been at his best for 2 or 3 years and will be looking for his last big contract.”

One fan, unimpressed by the winger’s form at big clubs, said: “No because he was not ambitious at Bayern. Degrading from City and Bayern to us – he will be awful.”

Another simply stated: “No thanks 👎👎👎👎👎” while another was quick to point out his wages and how Daniel Levy would not sanction a deal: “£250k wages, yes that is a no from Daniel 🤣”.

Another commented: “No thanks. Not the player he used to be.” One summed it up with: “That would have been cool like 6 years ago, right?”

Spurs must weigh Sane’s pedigree against his current form

Tottenham Hotspur have secured a spot in the UEFA Champions League next season after beating Manchester United 1-0 and lifting the UEFA Europa League trophy.

The North London club will be eager to bolster its squad with quality players who have experience playing in the Premier League and the Champions League.

Leroy Sane fits that bill for Tottenham, but the winger’s form of late leaves much to be desired, as he only managed to grab 19 goal contributions in 45 games for Bayern Munich.

To sign a player of Leroy Sane’s pedigree with his high wages would seem like a risky piece of business for Tottenham Hotspur.
