Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been quick to share their reactions after Radu Dragusin took a major step forward in his recovery.

Radu Dragusin took a very positive step towards recovery yesterday as he got 45 minutes under his belt in a behind-closed-doors match against Leyton Orient.

The Romanian centre-back has not played a competitive match since his last outing against Elfsborg in January, where he picked up an ACL injury.

He returned to first-team training a few months ago, but it was only yesterday that he took the next big step in his rehabilitation process, finally getting back onto the pitch and preparing himself for a return to first-team action.

His return could not have come at a better time, with Tottenham heading into a busy spell of fixtures that will test the depth of Thomas Frank’s squad.

Tottenham fans react to Radu Dragusin recovery progress

Tottenham fans, who once described Radu Dragusin as a beast when he was spotted working in the gym weeks after his ACL surgery, have now reacted positively to his latest step towards full fitness.

Many supporters are eager to see the 23-year-old back in action under Thomas Frank.

MORE SPURS STORIES

One fan said after Dragusin’s game against Leyton Orient: “I am looking forward to seeing how he plays in a Frank system. He was left majorly exposed last season with the high line and his defensive partner was either Davies or Gray. Still young at 23 years old, so could be another solid player for us.”

Another commented: “That is good news. Pleased he came through unscathed. If there is another friendly that could be arranged early next week, that would help get more minutes into his legs.”

A third Tottenham supporter added: “Be nice to have some depth and fully rotate Micky and Cuti. Frank’s system suits him much better as well.”

One fan also praised Dragusin’s commitment last season, saying: “I for one will not forget this man being willing to play every three days when we had no centre-backs from November to January last year, despite being injured at times. Some of the current crocks could learn something from him.”

While another concluded: “Genuinely think he will be a much better defender under Frank. It just did not work with the high line we played under Ange.”

Radu Dragusin return a timely boost for Spurs and Thomas Frank

Dragusin did not have the best of seasons last campaign, but his commitment and dedication to Tottenham were evident, and it is something the fans clearly appreciate.

His return arrives at a perfect time, with games set to come thick and fast across all competitions, providing a much-needed boost for Frank.

However, Tottenham will need to manage his return carefully, as players recovering from long-term injuries often face small setbacks when they first get back to full training and match rhythm.
