Tottenham supporters have even more reason to be excited ahead of the new season after a decision taken by the club.
After ending their trophy drought and hiring a new, exciting manager in Thomas Frank, Tottenham seemingly have a good platform to build on for next season.
Spurs look to be showing their ambition in the transfer market, too, as Mohammed Kudus has been linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Thomas Frank has a chance to instantly endear himself to those in N17 by adding more European silverware to the trophy cabinet as Tottenham prepare for their game against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup in August.
Levy confirms return of the Bill Nicholson Gates
Daniel Levy has been criticised for some of the club’s recent announcements, notably the price of the new Tottenham Hotspur away kit; however, the Spurs chairman’s latest announcement will be met with praise from supporters.

In an announcement on Tottenham’s official website on Wednesday (2 July), they confirmed that the iconic Bill Nicholson Gates will be returning this summer.
In the announcement, Levy commented on the news by saying: “The Bill Nicholson Gates are such a significant part of our club’s heritage and I am extremely proud they will be returning home this summer.
“We were never going to rush into a decision as to where they should be reinstated, given the huge amount of works that have taken place in the area over recent years.
“We have undertaken a carefully-planned process, working with our architects, construction partners and Fan Advisory Board, and I believe we have found a fitting solution.
“We look forward to welcoming fans back to the stadium for the coming season – as well as Bill’s family members and former players – to see the gates and feel that close connection between our Club and its rich history.”
The gates are set to be reinstated between the Ticket Office and historic buildings at the north of the stadium after being removed from White Hart Lane in 2015 ahead of the construction of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Frank will be looking to replicate the success of Nicholson
If Frank wants to have a successful tenure in North London like Nicholson, the Dane must be backed in the transfer market ahead of the new season.
Spurs’ pursuit of Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo looks to have been derailed after he signed a new deal on the South Coast.
Key players’ futures also need to be addressed, with Cristian Romero being linked with a move to Atletico Madrid.
For Frank to have the best chance possible at winning the Super Cup, the bulk of Tottenham’s transfer business must be conducted before the final on 13 August.
Winning the Super Cup would further reignite the club’s winning mentality that was established by Nicholson during his tenure as Tottenham manager.
