Tottenham feels too Spursy.

Tottenham appears to be out of the woods in respect of being relegated; at least there is finally a viable pathway out of the chaos. Providing, of course, that we don’t do anything too Spursy in our last couple of games. Which, as we all know, cannot be taken for granted.

This season, we have experienced many messages from players seeking to clarify their position during a difficult season. Cuti Romero, for example, posted a notable (and edited) statement after a loss to Bournemouth in early 2026. It apologised to fans but appeared to criticise the club’s hierarchy (“other people… only show up when things are going well” and references to “lies”). The club confirmed he remains captain. He has a history of direct social media posts.

The post from Yves clearly echoes the relegation action, but one thing fans have had enough of this season is ‘updates’ and that feeling of being shortchanged by players. One fan replied:

This blokes the definition of all talk, not enough action. Was absolutely buzzing when we signed him seeing him play a vital role at a good Brighton side for years and he’s been a sick note or messing about doing dumb things way too often. Sell sell sell. Idc if he “loves the club

None of the players should be doing any of that, do your job first

One was less than convinced, the message was even based in reality.

There’s no way Bissouma knew West Ham were even playing today or why them losing was significant

The mood was generally summed up by this chap, who also complained…

No talking , let’s get the job done and move on from this car crash season

In short, the disconnect between the players and the fans has now reached a point where the atmosphere has become very tense indeed. It feels just too Spursy.
