Tottenham Hotspur are set to lock horns with several of the biggest clubs in Europe in the Champions League next term after the identities of teams in Pot 1 have been finalised ahead of the draw.
While winning the Europa League is a huge achievement on its own for Spurs, the club have also got some huge rewards along with the trophy.
Tottenham will now take on the winner of the Champions League final between PSG and Inter Milan in the UEFA Super Cup in August, and more importantly, they will also be part of next season’s premier European competition.
The Lilywhites are back in the Champions League after a two-year absence, and with the competition now in a different format, they are guaranteed to face at least two huge teams in the league phase.
Who will Tottenham face from pot 1 of the Champions League draw?
The draw for the league phase of the Champions League will only take place on Thursday, August 18, but based on how the pots have lined up before the draw, Ange Postecoglou’s men have some idea of the kind of sides they will be facing.
Tottenham Hotspur are one of six English sides to qualify for the Champions League, alongside Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle United.
As things stand, 29 teams have guaranteed themselves a place in the league phase, with seven more spots up for grabs in the qualifying rounds.

Pot 1 has now been finalised after Europe’s top leagues came to a close, and it consists of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, PSG, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona.
The format of the competition means that all teams will be drawn against two sides from each of the four pots, thus determining their eight league fixtures.
That means that Tottenham are guaranteed to play two out of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, PSG, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona in the group stages.
What Pot do Tottenham find themselves in?
According to Football.London, and Tottenham are set to go into Pot 3, but they could be put into Pot 2 instead if one or both Club Brugge or Benfica do not qualify for the league phase.
Pot 2 currently consists of Arsenal, Bayer Leverkusen, Atletico Madrid, Atalanta, Villarreal, Juventus and Eintracht Frankfurt, with Benfica, Club Brugge, Rangers and Shakhtar Donetsk potentially joining these teams if they qualify for the competition.
That means that the possibility of a North London derby in the knockout stages of the Champions League remains well and truly alive.
