Tottenham are looking to reinforce their wide options in this transfer window.

Reinforcements in defence appears to be the priority for Tottenham Hotspur at this moment in time, with Roberto De Zerbi seeking another defender after the additions of Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers.

De Zerbi wants to be reunited with Brighton and Hove Albion defender Jan Paul van Hecke at Spurs. It is no surprise that the Italian tactician has focused on addressing the problems at the back early in the summer after Tottenham’s dismal record last season. Only the three relegated clubs conceded more goals in the Premier League than the Lilywhites’ 57.

Thus, Spurs also want to get a deal for Van Hecke done. At the same time, the club bosses are also in talks with Manchester City for Savinho. Mohammed Kudus’ quad injury in January left Spurs with no creativity and penetration from the right flank, forcing our managers to pigeonhole certain players. Not to forget, the club made a grave mistake of not signing a left-winger to fill in the void created by the great Son Heung-min’s departure last summer.

Tottenham get boost in the pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt starlet Jean-Matteo Bahoya

It looks like the Tottenham chiefs are scouring the market for left-wingers. Recent reports suggest Eintracht Frankfurt winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya has emerged as a target for the North Londoners.

Jean-Matteo Bahoya, a speed demon, enjoyed a fruitful past campaign with Eintracht Frankfurt, delivering four goals and as many assists in 37 appearances across all competitions. Unsurprisingly, the youngster’s performances in the Bundesliga have caught the eye of several clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia.

Now, according to a report from German outlet Bild, Jean-Matteo Bahoya is one of three players who could be sold this summer. Bahoya, Arthur Theate and Hugo Larsson are attracting interest from English clubs, with Eintracht Frankfurt desperate to raise around €100m after finishing eighth in the Bundesliga and missing out on European football.

Initially valued at around €70 million, Frankfurt are now expecting around €35-40m for Bahoya. This is down to the youngster’s slight dip in form in the latter stages of the 2025/26 campaign, although that hasn’t changed Tottenham’s thoughts about the player. Arsenal, though, seems to have walked away, having shown concrete interest in the French winger in December 2025.

The slashing of the asking price should give Spurs a welcome boost in their pursuit of the highly-rated Bahoya. Once compared to Jadon Sancho, the 21-year-old would add some much-needed directness and unpredictability from Tottenham’s wide areas. With Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons unlikely to return this year after sustaining ACL ruptures, the Frankfurt man could be a good option to compete with Mathys Tel on the left flank.

That said, Spurs must take advantage of Frankfurt’s financial situation to sign Bahoya.
